Change MSN address

VERSIONE IN ITALIANO
Dear Msn buddy, I’m going to change account.
For technical and political reasons I won’t continue to either use Microsoft Window Live Messenger or its protocol MSN Messenger.
I’m going to use Jabber/XMPP.
I would like to keep in touch with you and my other 200 contacts, so I decided to use a jabber server equipped with a transporter, that will act as a bridge from my Jabber connection to your Msn connection.

What is going to change for you?

It obviously depends on what you are going to do. You may decide to follow me and abandon a problematic protocol, lacking secure connections and with serious policies regarding privacy (it can block and therefore register what you are writing). You may also decide to add the following new Msn contact to your list, and delete the old @hotmail.com address:
e-mail daniel graziotin
If you’re interested in adopting Jabber write me an e-mail or post a comment. You can also give a read to Why use Jabber? or to the rest of jabber.org website. There is an article about Jabber on Wikipedia.

What is going to change for me?

I’m going to use a more secure, flexible, efficient, yet free system. I won’t be able to see your msn nickname, just your e-mail (but I’ll be able to see your personal message and the music your listening to).
I will be reachable on my old msn account for a short period, until end of Summer 2008.
Please add my new messenger contact if and only if you don’t have other ways to chat with me (listed below), I would like to limit my usage of MSN network.
I’m currently reachable through these accounts:

  • Jabber: e-mail daniel graziotin
  • Google Talk / GTalk: e-mail daniel graziotin
  • Skype: bodom_lx (search Daniel Graziotin if there are no results)
  • Msn: e-mail daniel graziotin if and only if there are no other ways to stay in touch with me

Thank you very much for your interest. I hope to hear from you soon.
